The t-shirt is meant to amuse, of course, but the story's themes were more serious in tone, and have stuck with me since 11th grade when I read it. The Yellow Wallpaper might seem especially relevant now because like the narrator, a lot of us are feeling alone, trapped or like they're going crazy (or some unfortunate combination of these).
