From Verse, Odium

I've never seen the Sherman Alexie feature film "The Business of Fancydancing" (2002) but I happened to see a short clip of it within a documentary I watched this evening (which I will write about in a separate post in a moment), and of course anything that talks about writing makes my ears perk up. I paused the movie to write the quote from the clip down:


"I don't really like all your poems. Some of them piss me off...I just keep reading them trying to figure out why they piss me off so much. Sometimes I just lie awake in bed and I just keep thinking about your poems and I hate the poems because they keep me awake and I hate you because you wrote the poems that keep me awake."
